Page 114 of The Biology of Transcendence (I know, only page 114. You don't think I see that first post about the book right below this. Time stamped March 5. Only through 114 pages in a month. I used to fly through books. Devour them. Now, the truth is, if the kids are both asleep and I have a few quiet moments, do I sit and read? Not usually. If I have my choice, I usually pick standing in the kitchen, eating cookie dough right out of the tube, while mentally fantasizing about doing something productive. Besides, transcendence isn't something to be taken lightly...you have to take time to wrap your brain around it.)
But back to my point. Page 114. He says, "Mother and infant are designed to be a dynamic that activates in each nature's agenda for nurturing and well-being. The infant unlocks in the mother a wisdom and knowledge gained over eons as the mother unlocks in the infant the intelligence to be fully human and, eventually, to nurture his or her own offspring in turn. The mother's influence is far more pervasive than she may be aware."
Wow.
