Warm but Lazy

Little A.J. (yes that's right, he has a name!) is doing as well as can be expected. He has been moved out of the space-age-looking-pressure-compression-bed-thing and into a regular hospital bassinet. He has been regulating his own body temperature since early this morning, although at times, he's just hanging on to the ragged edge.

He did breastfeed one more time today, but has since been very lethargic when eating, even from the bottle. It is looking very likely that he will get a feeding tube (a very small tube they insert through his nose and into his stomach) sometime in the next few days as they try to increase the volume of food he takes (while reducing how much he gets from the IV).

I will be discharged from the hospital sometime tomorrow. And then, we'll have to figure out our new routine for how often and when we can visit A.J. I have very mixed emotions about this...I'm missing my little girl so much! I can't wait to get home and take care of her...but I hate the thought of leaving A.J. all alone at the hospital to fend for himself. Won't he miss us if we aren't there visiting every few hours?
