I was so excited about our 4-day 4th of July weekend. I had big plans to get all the locks installed on the cabinets and get the gate at the bottom of the stairs installed...not to mention the long list of other miscellaneous errands and other projects...plus spend lots of time with Andy and Exia...maybe even see our extended families. I was going to be super-mom, pumped up with super-pg energy to GET STUFF DONE!
Yeah, that didn't happen.
Both of Andy and Exia, barely off their antibiotics from the last course of illness, were sick again. Both are coughing. E might be be getting some teeth or going through a growth spurt or struggling with the transition to one nap or maybe it's a bug...or maybe all of the above. Andy's got some kind of cold. The coughing is the worst. Both of them coughing through the night (as if I don't have enough trouble sleeping lately). Both were cranky and needy all weekend...and they wore me out. It was all I could do to stay on top of dishes; that was pretty much my only accomplishment for the weekend - at least I stayed on top of the dishes.
Sigh. Oh well. Maybe next weekend I'll be super-mom.
Note - We did make it to the park a few times and we spent A LOT of time together. In the end, I know it doesn't matter that I didn't get things crossed off my list. It was nice to spend time with my husband and daughter, even if they were so cranky it almost broke me.
(Attached photo is from this morning's park visit. We were so desperate for a brake from each other's crankiness, we did breakfast at the park).
