HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO EXIA
Exia turned 1-yr old last Thursday and we had a little party to celebrate on Saturday. The day started out in a bit of cluster when E woke up not feeling well. Me and E spent the morning running to the doctor and then waiting forever at the pharmacy for her prescription (she has an ear infection). We got home, neither of us bathed and the house NOT ready for company (let alone 10 kids under the age of 2) to arrive in a few hours. To top it off, I was worried (okay, paranoid might be a better term) that E was having a reaction to the antibiotics so I kept calling the nurses line trying to decide if those red bumps were hives or something else (not an allergic reaction we finally determined). Fortunately, both Grandmas came early and everyone chipped in to help clean and pick up and get things set up.
E had lots of her friends there to celebrate and we had PLENTY of food thanks to Andy's Sams-Club-Style of estimating catering quantities (lets just say we had lots of hot dog and hamburger buns...and everything else). We made Jolie's-Vegan-Carrot-Cake for E's birthday cake. I substituted the whole wheat flour with the Land 'O Lakes mixture I found here. Here's a short clip of everyone singing happy birthday to E while Andy helps her blow out her candle.
More pictures from Saturday's festivities (and Sunday opening/playing with presents) in June's photo album. I didn't do a very good job of taking pictures during the party...in fact, E has her jammies on in most of the pictures (late Saturday evening and Sunday morning)...and there aren't pictures of everyones presents. Our friends and family are so generous! We're so happy everyone could be there to celebrate with us!
TWO MORE BIRTHDAY VIDEO CLIPS
Colten and E (at the end of the day that's why they are in their jammies).
Sunday morning, playing the xylophone from cousin PetieO.
